Oile Concept
We imagine the hotel to be inspired by the golden age of Ryukyuan, where people and products were meeting every day for trades and exchanges. The lobby of Oile would represent an Oceanic Bazaar, where all this buzzing is happening: people from all over the world coming to Okinawa for visit and they’ll rest here, to exchange their stories. In this sense the lobby has been designed to be a meeting point for travellers, where a communal table and flexible seating arrangements allow flexibility and a great sense of hospitality. The rooftop pool area enjoys an incredible sea view, guests can reach the top floor of this hotel and kick back and relax, enjoying the view of a perfect sunset.
Our Design
Oile interior
All furniture are custom designs to meet the language and the necessity of the boutique hotel. Interiors and furniture have been followed by HBA Hong Kong, an international design studio specialized in bespoke luxury hospitality. We enjoyed bringing local and traditional elements, for example the Ryukyuan traditional fabric pattern which has been used to wrap the beautiful glass pendant lights used in the lobby. Overall color palette and materials used throughout the hotel are bright and light, referring to the traditional Japanese materials, with dash and accents of blue color: the same oceanic blue that you can see outside every window of the hotel. The hotel concept is a mix between the Ryukyuan tradition (colors, patterns, materials and art & crafts) and what is contemporary Japan, clean lines and minimalism.
